St. Attracta’s Senior Girls’ Footballers were crowned Division 4 Champions in Croke Park on Monday 21st October 2024. A dominant display from the Meadowbrook girls saw them defeating Gaelscoil Míde, Kilbarrack on a scoreline of 7-05 -1-05. Gaelscoil Míde opened the scoring with a well taken point but St. Attracta’s soon took control of proceedings and they produced an excellent team display full of skill and commitment. A haul of 6-02 from the outstanding Katie Darcy at full forward proved to be decisive. The team were led superbly by their captain Sophie O’ Toole and she delivered a commanding display from full-back. The entire squad made valuable contributions over the course of the campaign and we hope that their victory will inspire the younger classes in the school to become involved in sport. This is the second time in three years that a Saint Attracta’s girls’ gaelic football team have been victorious in Croke Park and it bodes well for the future of ladies’ football in the area. Congrats to the entire panel and their wonderful coaches Ms. Quigley and Ms. McCann for their commitment and dedication to the group over the last few months. We are all extremely proud of this fantastic achievement. H. Harty, A. O’ Brien, S. O’ Toole, J. Gleeson, I. Humar, L. Morris, E. Delicato, A. Rowland, A. Clarke (0-3), A. McLoughlin (1-0), E.
