Tuesday 30th May was a momentous day for St. Attracta’s S.N.S with our boys senior hurling team and our girls senior camogie team both competing for a coveted place in a Cumann na mBunscol final in Croke Park. The two games took place in a sun-drenched Broadford with a great home crowd getting out to support our teams.
The boys were up first against Holy Trinity S.N.S from Donaghmede. After a hard fought first half, the boys went in a point up at half-time. This tight and hotly contested affair continued right up until the final whistle with the boys eventually winning out on a scoreline of 2-11 to 3-5.
The girls were up next against a fiercely competitive Scoil Oilibhéir. After a rip roaring first half, the girls went in a couple of points to the good. They certainly didn’t have it all their own way in the second half, but after some fantastic scores from both teams, it was St. Attracta’s who came out on top on a scoreline of 5-4 to 4-4.
Both teams should be immensely proud of their achievements and the very best of luck to both teams in the final in Croker. A huge thanks to their coaches, Ms. Lynskey, Ms. O’Gorman, Mr. Coughlan and Mr. Kenny for all their hard work with both teams.
